In addition to serving the urgent care and primary care needs of adults and children, the board-certified medical providers at My Doc Urgent Care also provide preventive medicine and wellness care. This consists of two important healthcare services: physical exams and vaccinations.
Physicals for School, Sports, Work, & More
A physical is a routine exam that assesses your overall health. It may be used to address any medical concerns you have, monitor existing conditions, and/or ensure you are able to safely participate in specific activities. The different types of physicals we provide at My Doc Urgent Care include:
A school physical is used to evaluate the overall health of your child, as well as ensure they are meeting age-appropriate developmental milestones. In many cases, ensuring your child has received all required vaccines is part of the school physical.
The primary aim of a sports physical is to ensure you or your child are physically capable of performing the activities involved in a designated sport. This exam is also sometimes called a preparticipation physical exam (PPE) and it involves a physical exam as well as thorough review of a patient’s medical history. Any existing injuries will be evaluated, along with your overall fitness level. This exam may include discussion of techniques that can help prevent common athletic injuries.
Employers may sometimes require a physical prior to initial hiring or at some point during employment. We can perform these employer-mandated physicals quickly and conveniently for both employees and employers
This evaluation is required in order to operate a commercial vehicle in New Jersey and throughout the U.S. It is referred to as a medical fitness for duty examination, with the purpose of ensuring a person is capable of successfully completing the duties associated with commercial driving.

Typically done once a year, this type of physical is a good opportunity to monitor any chronic health conditions and identify any additional testing that may be necessary due to your age, gender, or other risk factors. It’s also the ideal time to bring any health-related questions to your doctor.

It Takes Just a Few Minutes to Understand your Risk for a Stroke!
Please call toll-free 1-800-395-3920 to schedule your screening as soon as possible.
High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Diabetes, Obesity, Smoking, Family History
What your annual check-up may not reveal
Ultrasound screenings can actually see inside your arteries to reveal things your doctor can’t see in an annual exam – even if you have no symptoms.
You may not be aware that there’s a simple, convenient way for you to get preventative health screenings, and take charge of your health.
We go beyond your regular checkup with painless ultrasound screenings that can reveal dangerous plaque buildup or blockage. These tests are not only accurate, they are:
- Conducted in your neighborhood
- Non-invasive and not requiring you to remove any clothing
- Convenient, taking a little more than an hour of your time for five valuable screenings.
The lifetime risk of stroke for middle aged men and women is 1 in 5 for women and 1 in 6 for men, and it take a terrible toll on families.
